C. Scot Cru

C. Scot Cru is a television and media executive with over 25 years experience and joins GRB after fifteen years as the Executive Vice President, International for United Artist Media Group (Mark Burnett Productions). In his role Cru was responsible for all international business for UAMG. He oversaw distribution of UAMG shows and formats, including such powerhouse and award-winning shows as THE BIBLE, THE APPRENTICE and ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?. Highlights of Cru’s distribution efforts include THE APPRENTICE format produced in over 27 countries, ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER? produced in over 57 territories around the world, and THE BIBLE series distributed in more than 170 territories and viewed by more than 100 million people worldwide. Cru’s responsibilities also cover expansion of the UAMG brand globally. In connection, Cru is responsible for the creation of international UAMG affiliate production companies, which have included those in France, Singapore and the United Kingdom. He created strategic partnerships with leading international broadcasters to create content, including those leading to global partnerships such as a worldwide partnership to produce UAMG’s GENERATION GAP with Televisa. And Cru was responsible for identifying, and negotiating with, global production entities the company is interested in acquiring. Cru also serves as a creative executive in connection with acquisition of international programs to import into the United States, the launch of original UAMG formats outside the United States, including MIND CONTROL, SPIN OFF and DREAM FUNDED, which returned to the United States as STEVE HARVEY’S FUNDERDOM on ABC.

Prior to joining UAMG, Cru was the Director of Special Projects at Sony Pictures Television International, where he spearheaded the production efforts of Sony’s international channels including the Eco-Challenge for AXN. Before Sony, Cru was the Director of Sales for Turner Broadcasting International, where his responsibilities included the cable licensing rights throughout the Caribbean for all the Turner networks including CNN, CNN en Espanol, TNT and The Cartoon Network.
