GRB Entertainment has once again placed its cooking competition series BBQ Pitmasters in Australia, with Seven Network securing the show for free TV.
The show follows barbecue chefs as they reveal their secrets on how to grill like a pro, while competing for a big cash prize. Foxtel previously acquired the show for pay TV.
“There are several elements that make BBQ Pitmasters such a global phenomenon,” said Mike Lolato, the senior VP of international distribution at GRB Entertainment. “The series sits in the unique space of male-skewing competition cooking. Audiences identify with the passion the teams have for barbecue and the take-home information make it appointment viewing for all aspiring backyard chefs. BBQ Pitmasters proves there’s a place for male-skewing programming outside of the realm of sports and automotive series; we’re thrilled that Seven Network and Foxtel have both recognized that.”
