Gary
R. Benz established GRB Entertainment to be a premiere independent, fully
service production and international distribution company. As an Executive
Producer, Gary has overseen thousands of hours of original broadcast, cable and syndicated
programming, including live events, specials and numerous critically acclaimed
and award-winning series for networks such as Disney+, A&E, Discovery,
National Geographic, Fox, ABC and The Weather Channel. Now entering its
fourth decade in business and nominated for Emmy® awards in almost every year
over the past decade, Mr. Benz’s diverse scope of work ranges from NBC’s NEXT
ACTION STAR and other high-profile action stunt specials, to provocative and
humorous dramatic recreations like TLC’s UNTOLD STORIES OF THE ER and SEX SENT
ME TO THE ER, as well as the high-stakes life and death, Emmy® award winning
documentary series INTERVENTION for A&E. INTERVENTION holds a rare
space in the marketplace for its longevity (15+ years/250+ episodes) and
navigation of complex and relevant subject matter, positioning GRB as a well
sought out partner in developing high quality, current, and socially conscious
programming. As an international distributor, GRB manages a catalog of
more than 5,000 hours of programming, including series, specials, and films,
and has sold programming to a multitude of channels in over 190
countries. Its international distribution activity includes widely known
and popular networks such as UKTV, BSkyB, Pro 7, Super RTL, Televisa and
MNET. In addition, Mr. Benz has positioned GRB at the forefront of
digital distribution, creating additional revenue-generating opportunities for
its catalog content and working with an ever-growing list of video-on-demand
and other over-the-top services worldwide, including Netflix, PlutoTV and
Tubi. Notably, GRB holds the largest independent catalog of stand-up
comedy and specials, as well as one of the most extensive catalogs of African
American and black international programming. Gary is currently a member of the Directors Guild of
America, the Writers Guild of America, the Academy of Television Arts and the
Board Chairman for the Entertainment Industries Council, Inc.
