The HURRICANE HUNTERS are the Air Force Reserve squadron that flies planes into deadly hurricanes and tropical storms to collect key pieces of meteorological data that can only be gathered by flying into the eye of hurricanes. Providing continuous operations 24 hours a day, the ability to fly up to 3 storms at a time, and provide a response time of 16 hours, these brave men and women are the civilians’ best defense against nature’s havoc.
